Tip of the Month – June

Get READY!

“If you’re not ready for everything, you’re not ready for anything.” — Paul Auster

As Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and entrepreneurs, we spend a lot of time preparing and studying in order to be ready for anything that comes our way. But…are we REALLYready for anything?

Here are several tips to help get you READY for anything:

R= REHEARSE– Be prepared to deliver that knock-out presentation or media interview by rehearsing ahead of time. Call a few friends and have them pretend to be audience members or the media. Remember to bring the wine and have fun rehearsing! By the time you deliver your presentation or conduct that interview, you’ll have made all the mistakes you were worried about making in the first place.

E= ENTHUSIASM– Let your enthusiasm for that corporate wellness contract you just landed shine through. Our passion for projects can be infectious and can lead to positive program reviews which, in turn, lead to additional opportunities.

A= ACTION– Your business depends on your actions and follow-through on all of your commitments. If you say you will deliver X in Y amount of days, make sure you do! If your website states you will respond to all inquiries within 24 hours, demonstrate your reliability living up to that promise.

D= DEDICATION– Your patients and clients will appreciate your dedication to meeting their needs. Believing that you are a solution to their problem is what they need to believe as well.

Y= YES!– Say yes to the opportunities about which you are excited about and to which you will stay committed through project completion. If you have to say no, pass them along to a colleague who may be a better fit. The pie is big enough for us all!

Try incorporating some of these tips in your practice so you can be READY for anything!

In the immortal words of Bob Ross…“The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it. Anything that you believe you can do strong enough, you can do. Anything. As long as you believe.”
